The Road Traffic Infringement Agency (RTIA) is proud to announce the Administrative Adjudication of Road Traffic Offences (AARTO) Act to Thabazimbi Municipality in Limpopo province. This educational drive forms part of the Agency’s wider public educational campaign announced on 1 February 2022.

AARTO is aimed at changing road user behaviour in an effort to create safer South African roads. The RTIA officials on the ground will educate road users on the AARTO elective options which include:

    • Receive 50% discount if you pay your fines to the issuing authority within 32 days after the receipt of the infringement notice.
    • Submit a representation in order to dispute an infringement notice.
    • Nominate the driver in control of the vehicle in order to transfer the fine.
    • Apply to pay the infringement in instalments should it exceed R750.
    • Elect to the tried in court.
